Looking for a well-trained dog that’s ready to join your family—or become your next service dog?

At The Urban K-9 Academy, we offer Started Dogs: professionally trained canines with a solid foundation in obedience, socialization, and real-world manners. These dogs are ideal for family companions or can continue training toward service work.

Our dogs are carefully selected from local rescues (no health guarentees) or our in-house breeding program, ensuring sound temperament, health, and suitability for advanced training.

What’s Included
Each Started Dog receives the following foundational training (may vary by dog):

Obedience & Manners

• Basic obedience 
• Off-leash obedience
• Crate training
• Potty training
• Leash manners
  

Certifications

• AKC STAR Puppy
• AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC)
• CGC-Community
• CGC-Urban
• AKC Temperament Test (ATT)
• Socialization: Exposure to pet-friendly stores, parks, and varied environments
• Confidence building through real-life experiences

For Service Dog Candidates
If the dog qualifies for service work, additional training may include:

• Service dog foundation work
• All CGC certifications
• Public access training (intro level)
• Desensitization to service gear (vest, leash, harness).
• Prepared to begin task-specific training.

Price Range:
$1,200 – $6,000
(Pricing is based on age, training level, and certifications).
